Construct: Verb
Definition: To whip (spinning top).
Use: Grass the top for me.
Whip the top for me (to get it to spin on its end).
Derivation: Irisg 'Greas' - a turn (at a game) and 'Greasaim' - I beat, I strike, hence to beat the top with the lash of the whip. (Dinneen)
and 'Gres' - an attack, a hostile encounter. 'Na trí fhuargres - of the three cold strokes'. (Byrne)
