Construct: Noun
Definition: Uproar.
Use: He caused ructions in the pub.
He caused trouble - noise in the bar.
Derivation: 'Ruchtacht' - groaning, rumbling. (Dinneen). 'Ruchtach' - that which makes a 'Rucht' or sound of some kind. (Joynt). Note 'The Insurrection of 1798 which was commonly called the Ruction'. (Joyce).
